Solution:

Let the price of the AC before adding GST be $x$.

This implies,

$48000=x+\frac{28}{100}\times x$

$48000=\frac{100x+28x}{100}$

$48000 \times 100=128x$

$x=\frac{4800000}{128}$

$x=37500$

The price of the AC before GST is added is $Rs.\ 37500$.
