On selling a mobile for RS 750 shopkeeper losses 10%. For what amount should he sells it to gain 5%.
Given: On selling a mobile for RS 750 shopkeeper losses 10%.
To do: Find for what amount should he sells it to gain 5%.
Solution:
Selling price = 750 ₹
Loss = 10 %
So, the selling price is 90% of cost price.
90 % of CP = 750₹
CP = 750 $\times \frac{100}{ 90}$
= $\frac{ 75000}{ 90}$
CP = 833.33 ₹
To gain 5% on cost price, he should sell for 105%
105 % of CP = 833.33 $\times \frac{105}{ 100}$
= $\frac{87500}{100}$
= 875 ₹
Therefore to gain 5% on cost price, he should sell for 875 ₹
