Name the factors on which resistivity depends?
Resistivity is a measure of the resisting power of a specified material to the flow of an electric current per unit length and per unit of cross-sectional area at a specified temperature.
The SI unit of electrical resistivity is the ohm⋅metre (Ω⋅m)
Resistivity depends on:
Nature of material:
The materials are divided into different categories like insulators, conductor and semiconductors etc. according to their level or resistivity.
Resistivity is high in insulators where as very low in conductors.
Temperature:
The resistivity increases in increasing the temperature of material.
