Is toothpaste a base or an acid?
Hi Eafa,
Toothpaste is basic in nature.
On a pH scale of 0 - 14, anything less than 7 is acidic, and anything greater than 7 is alkaline (or basic). If pH is 7 then it's considered as neutral.
For example, Lemon Juice and Vinegar is acidic, Water and Common salt is neutral, and Toothpaste, Soap is alkaline.
