In rational numbers, do we have to reduce the answer with a common factor?
The rational number may or may not be in standard form i.e., the numerator and denominator may be or may not be in irreducible form.
For reducing rational numbers to its standard form, we usually divide denominator and numerator by their HCF. The highest common factor (HCF) of two or more numbers is the greatest number that is a factor of entirely of the given numbers. If the HCF is 1, then the rational number is in standard form
