In A Right Angled Triangle Base =12cm And Hypotenuse =15 CM Find The Perpendicular
Given:
In A Right Angled Triangle Base =12cm And Hypotenuse =15 CM
To do: Find The Perpendicular.
Solution:
Base = $12$ cm
Hypotenuse = $15$ cm
Perpendicular height = ?
Since, it is a right angle triangle apply Pythagoras theorem,
$Base^ 2 + height^ 2 = Hypotenuse^2$
$12^2 + height^ 2 = 15^ 2 $
$144 + height^ 2 = 225$ [12 $\times$12 = 144 ; 15 $\times$ 15 = 225]
$height^2 = 225 - 144$
$ height^ 2 = 81$
$ height = √81$
$ height = 9$
So, height of perpendicular is 9 cm
