If the LCM of two natural numbers is 180, then which of the following is not the the HCF of the numbers
(A) 45 (B) 60 (C) 75 (D) 90
Given the LCM of two natural numbers is 180
To find which of the following is not their HCF (A) 45 (B) 60 (C) 75 (D) 90
Solution:
If the LCM is divided by HCF we should get a natural number.
(A) $\frac{LCM}{HCF}$
=$\frac{180}{45}$ = 4 a natural number.
(B) $\frac{LCM}{HCF}$
=$\frac{180}{60}$ = 3 a natural number.
(C) $\frac{LCM}{HCF}$
=$\frac{180}{75}$ = 3.4, NOT a natural number.
(D) $\frac{LCM}{HCF}$
=$\frac{180}{90}$ = 2 a natural number.
So option C is correct one as 75 is NOT a HCF of given numbers
