If the circumference of a circle is $176\ cm$, find its radius.
Given: Circumference of a circle is $176\ cm$.
To do: To find its radius.
Solution:
Let $r$ be the radius of the circle.
$\therefore$ Circumference of the circle$=2\pi r$
But Circuference of the circle$=176\ cm$ [Given]
$\Rightarrow 2\pi r=176$
$\Rightarrow r=\frac{176}{2\pi}$
$\Rightarrow r=\frac{176}{2\times\frac{22}{7}}$
$\Rightarrow r=\frac{716\times7}{2\times22}$
$\Rightarrow r=28\ cm$
Thus, the radius of the circle is $28\ cm$.
