If $\pi=\frac{22}{7}$, then find the distance covered in a revolution $( in\ m)$ of a wheel of diameter $35\ cm$.
Given: Diameter of a wheel is $35\ cm$ and value of $\pi$ to be taken is $\frac{22}{7}$.
To do: To find the distance covered in a revolution $( in\ m)$ of the wheel.
Solution:
As given, Diameter of the wheel, $d=35\ cm$
$\Rightarrow$ Radius of the wheel $r=\frac{35}{2}$
$\therefore$ Distance covered in one revolution by the wheel$=$ Circumference of the wheel
$=2\pi r$
$=2\times\frac{22}{7}\times\frac{35}{2}$
$=110\ cm$
$=\frac{110}{100}=1.1\ m$
Thus, the distance covered in a revolution of the wheel is $1.1\ m$.
