If a gas cylinder for fuel purpose having the length of $ 7.5 $ dcm and the length of the inner diameter of $ 2.8 $ dcm carries $ 15.015 $ kg of gas, let us write by calculating the weight of the gas of per cubic dcm.
Given:
A gas cylinder for fuel purpose has the length of \( 7.5 \) dcm and the length of the inner diameter of \( 2.8 \) dcm carries \( 15.015 \) kg of gas.
To do:
We have to find the weight of cylinder per cubic dcm.
Solution:
Diameter of the gas cylinder $= 2.8$ dcm
This implies,
Radius of the cylinder $=\frac{2.8}{2}= 1.4$ dcm
We know that,
Volume of a cylinder $=\pi r^2h$
Therefore,
Volume of the cylinder $=\frac{22}{7}\times(1.4)^2\times 7.5$
$=46.2\ dcm^3$
Weight of $46.2\ dcm^3= 15.015\ kg$
Weight of $1\ dcm^3 = \frac{15.015}{46.2}$
$=0.325\ kg$
$=0.325\times1000\ g$
$=325\ g$
Therefore the weight of the cylinder per cubic dcm is 325 grams.
