Given: A company sells a car with a marked price of $₹\ 2,72,000$ and gives a discount of $4$ % on $₹\ 2,00,000$ and $2.5$ % on the remaining amount of $₹\ 72,000$
To do: To find the actual price charged by the company for the car.
Solution:
Maximum price$=₹\ 2,72,000$
Therefore, total discount$=₹\ [( 4$ % of $200000)+( 2.5$ % of $72000)]$
$=\frac{4}{100}\times200000+\frac{72000}{100}\times2.5$
$=₹\ ( 8000 + 1800)$
$=₹\ 9800$
Therefore, actual price charged by the company$=₹\ ( 272000 - 9800)$
$=₹\ 2,62,200$
