How many years does a tree can live? If we cut a tree then we have to take out the root also or it'll decompose by itself?
A tree can live for more or less than 100 years. The lifespan of trees depends on what type of tree it is.
Some species of trees can live up to more than a few thousand years.
If we cut the tree then without leaves they cannot produce food for the growth of its roots. But, the roots may have enough nutrients left that allow the growth of sprout from the root or from the leftover stump.
This sprout can develop enough leaves so that the leftover stump eventually grow back into a tree.
In this case, to end it completely we have to take out the root.
Now, if a tree wouldn’t be able to produce sprout from the root or from the leftover stump, then the roots will eventually decompose.
Trees like pines, maples, and oaks do not grow back from roots.
Trees like mango, elms, and willows can grow back from roots.
