How can we measure a curved lines with the help of a divider ?
- Let AB be a curved line which is to be measured.
- Take a divider and open its legs to cover some convenient distance say 1 cm.
- Place one end of the divider at the starting point of the curved line.
- Now, move step by step to another end. The number of steps taken to reach the other end of the line is counted.
- Length of the curve will be (Distance between divider legs) x (Number of steps)
- If some of the portions of the line are left out, measure them separately, and add this to the final reading.
