How can we identify, that we are breathing oxygen or carbon dioxide, as we can't see it?
We don't need to identify that we are breathing oxygen or carbon dioxide, because when we take a breath, we pull air into our lungs that contain 78 % nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.965% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, some other gases, and breathe out mostly carbon dioxide.
We breathe in mostly oxygen and nitrogen because, they are found in an abundant amount, whereas carbon-dioxide found less in the amount on the Earth.
Our body mechanics need oxygen to function as we take a breath, the lungs transfer oxygen in the blood which transports it to all over the body to help our cells work.
This process also produces carbon dioxide, which is a waste product and needs to be removed, so we exhale it.
