How are nutrients replenished in soil naturally?
Nutrients in the soil can be replenished in 2 ways: Chemically and Biologically.
- Nutrients in the soil can be replenished chemically by adding fertilizers and manures. Fertilizers and manures contain plants' nutrients and minerals like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
- Biologically, the nutrients are replenished by the bacterium called Rhizobium, which can take atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into a soluble form.
- The nutrients are replenished in the soil by other methods like crop rotation. Changing the crops for every season will keep the land fertile. When one type of crop drains the nutrients in one season, then in the nest season plant a different type of plant which will give back these nutrients to the soil.
