Given:
The frequency distribution of wages (in Rs) of 30 workers in a certain factory.
A worker is selected at random.
To do:
We have to find the probability that his wages are less than Rs 150.
Solution:
Total number of workers $=30$
Number of workers whose wages are less than Rs. 150$=3 + 4 = 7$
We know that,
Probability of an event=$ \frac{Number \ of \ favourable \ outcomes}{Total \ number \ of \ outcomes}$
Therefore,
Probability that his wages are less than Rs 150 $=\frac{7}{30}$
The probability that his wages are less than Rs 150 is $\frac{7}{30}$.
