Find x from the following figure.
"
Given :
Internal angles of the pentagon are 90°, 90°
External angles of the pentagon are 50°, 60°, x.
To do :
We have to find the value of x.
Solution :
We know that,
The sum of the angles on a straight line is 180°.
Sum of the internal angles in a pentagon $= 540°$.
Therefore,
From the figure,
$90°+(180-60)°+90°+(180-50)°+(180-x)° = 540°$
$180°+120°+130°+(180-x)° = 540°$
$430° + (180-x)° = 540°$
$180-x = 540°-430°$
$180-x = 110°$
$x = 180°-110°$
$x = 70°$
Therefore, the value of x is 70°.Advertisements
