Find the value of x in the following image.
"
Given: A right angle triangle with hypotenuse equal to 10 cm and base equal to 6 cm.
To find: Here we have to find the value of perpendicular.
Solution:
We know that in right angle triangles we can use Pythagoras theorem:
(Base)2 $+$ (Perpendicular)2 = (Hypotenuse)2
62 $+$ x2 = 102
36 $+$ x2 = 100
x2 = 100 $-$ 36
x2 = 64
x = 8
Therefore, the value of x is 8 cm.
