Given: $\sqrt{45}-\sqrt{20}$

To do: To find the value of  $\sqrt{45}-\sqrt{20}=?$

Solution:

 $\sqrt{45}-\sqrt{20}$

$=\sqrt{3\times3\times5}-\sqrt{2\times2\times5}$

$=3\sqrt{5}-2\sqrt{5}=\sqrt{5}$

Thus,  $\sqrt{45}-\sqrt{20}=\sqrt{5}$.
