Find the value of a if:
A) a $+$ ($-$ 32) = 0
B) a $-$ ($-$ 3) = 0
Given: a $+$ ($-$ 32) = 0 and a $-$ ($-$ 3) = 0
To find: Value of a in both cases.
Solution:
A) a $+$ ($-$ 32) = 0
We know that ($+$) $\times$ ($-$) = ($-$), So,
a $-$ 32 = 0
a = 32
So, value of a is 32.
B) a $-$ ($-$ 3) = 0
We know that ($-$) $\times$ ($-$) = ($+$), So,
a $+$ 3 = 0
a = $\mathbf{-}$ 3
So, the value of a is -3.
