Find the ratio of the following:(a) Rs. 5 to 50 paise(b) 9 m to 27 cm

The given terms are (a) Rs. 5 to 50 paise and (b) 9 m to 27 cm.

We have to find the ratio of the given terms.

Solution :

(a) Rs. 5 to 50 paise

We know that,

$Rs. 1 = 100 paise$

$Rs. 5 = 5 \times 100 paise = 500 paise$

$Rs. 5 : 50 paise = 500 paise : 50 paise = 10:1$.

Therefore, the ratio of Rs.5 to 50 paise is 10:1.

(b) 9 m to 27 cm

We know that,

$1 m = 100 cm$

$9 m = 9 \times 100 cm = 900 cm$

$ 9 m : 27 cm = 900 cm : 27 cm = 100:3$
