Find the mean of each of the following frequency distributions:
Class interval: | 0-6 | 6-12 | 12-18 | 18-24 | 24-30 |
Frequency: | 6 | 8 | 10 | 9 | 7. |
To do:
We have to find the mean of the given frequency distribution.
Solution:
Let the assumed mean be $A=15$
We know that,
Mean $=A+\frac{\sum{f_id_i}}{\sum{f_i}}$
Therefore,
Mean $=15+\frac{18}{40}$
$=15+\frac{9}{20}$
$=15+0.45$
$=15.45$
The mean of the given frequency distribution is $15.45$.
