Find the area of the unshaded part.

"

Given :

The given figure shows a circle in a square.

To find :

We have to find the area of unshaded part.

Solution :

All sides are equal in the square.

Side of square $= 14 + 14 = 28 cm$

In the given figure the area of triangle is unshaded part.

So, Area of unshaded part = Area of triangle.

$$Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height $$

$Base = 28 cm$

$Height = 28 cm$

Area of triangle $=  \frac{1}{2} \times 28 \times 28 $

                              $=14 \times 28$

                              $ = 392 cm^2$

Area of triangle $= 392 cm^2$.

Therefore , area of unshaded part is $392 cm^2$
