Find the area of path of the following.
"
Given: A path in the figure.
To do: To find the area of the path.
Solution:
As given in the figure:
Length of the path $TUWV=AB=23\ m$
Breadth of the path $TUWV=TV=3\ m$
Therefore, area of the path $TUWV=length\times breadth$
$=23\times3$
$69\ m^2$
Similarly area of the path $PQRS=17\times3$
$=51\ m^2$
Area of $KLMN=3\times3$
$=9\ m^2$
$\therefore$ Total area of the path$=$Area of $TUVW+$Area of $PQRS-$Area of $KLMN$
$=69+51-9$
$=111\ m^2$
Thus, the area of the path is $101\ m^2$.
