Express the following as ratios in the simplest form.
₹ 7 and 50 paise to ₹ 4.
Given :
The ratio of Rs. 7 and 50 paise to Rs. 4.
To do :
We have to find the ratio and write its simplest form.
Solution :
We know that,
$Rs. 1 = 100 paise$
This implies,
$Rs. 7 and 50 paise = 7 \times 100 + 50 paise = 700+50 paise = 750 paise$
$Rs. 4 = 4\times100 paise = 400 paise$
$Rs. 7 : 50 paise to Rs. 4 = 750 paise : 400 paise$
$ = 750 : 400$
$ = 15 : 8$
Therefore, the ratio of Rs. 7 and 50 paise to Rs. 4 is 15:8.
