Explain the median and altitude in triangles.

Solution:

Medians and Altitudes ln Triangles

Median in a triangle is a line segment joining any one of its vertices with the midpoint of the corresponding opposite side of that vertex thus bisecting that side. Every triangle has exactly three medians, one from each vertex, and they all intersect each other at the triangle's centroid.

The altitude of a triangle is the perpendicular drawn from the vertex of the triangle to the opposite side. Also, known as the height of the triangle. Every triangle has exactly three altitudes, one from each vertex, and they all intersect each other at the triangle's orthocentre.
