Explain the Ionic Compound.
An ionic compound is a compound composed of ions which are held together by electrostatic forces termed as ionic bonding.
The compound is neutral overall but consists of positively charged ions called cations and negatively charged ions called anions.
Example- sodium chloride, it consists of Na+ cations and Cl- anions.
