Explain the functions of the chloroplast.

Functions of the chloroplast are as follow:

1. The most important function of the chloroplast is to captures sunlight with the help of chlorophyll, and converts it into energy, and releases oxygen from water.

2. It uses carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air to generate carbon and sugar during the dark reaction of photosynthesis.

3. It produces NADPH and molecular oxygen (O2) by photolysis of water, and ATP – Adenosine triphosphate by the process of photosynthesis.
