Explain how deforestation leads to reduced rainfall.

Deforestation is the destruction of trees and forests for agriculture, human habitation, urbanization, mining, and industrial purposes, leading to devastating effects on the environment.

Trees and plants absorb water from the Earth through their roots. This absorbed water goes back into the atmosphere through transpiration from leaves. Water vapor is the main cause of rain.

During deforestation, less water will evaporate into the atmosphere and thus can cause reduced rainfall.

Plants are useful to us in many ways-
1. They provide oxygen.
2. They provide habitat for wildlife and building materials for constructing houses.
3. Various plant parts like leaves, fruits, nuts, stems, and flowers are used as food by herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
4. They provide fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp, etc. for manufacturing textiles.
5. They provide fibers for paper, caning, and rope, and also provide basketry materials used in making furniture.
6. Some plants are used in making candles, lotions, and perfumes.
7. Various plants are used as medications.
8. They are useful in moderating greenhouse gasses, and also their roots help in breaking rocks to create soil.
