Evaluate the following:$\sqrt{1} + \sqrt{4}$

Given :

The given expression is $\sqrt{1} + \sqrt{4}$.

To do :

We have to evaluate the given expression.

Solution :

We know that,

$\sqrt{a} = \pm a$

$\sqrt{1} = \pm 1$

$\sqrt{4} = \pm 2$

Therefore, $\sqrt{1}+\sqrt{4}=1+2=3$

$\sqrt{1}+\sqrt{4}=-1+(-2)=-3$

$\sqrt{1}+\sqrt{4}=-1+2=1$

$\sqrt{1}+\sqrt{4}=1+(-2)=-1$.
