We have to draw the line segment of length $10\ cm$ and bisect it and bisect one of the equal parts and measure its length.
Solution:
Steps of construction:
(i) Draw a line segment $AB = 10\ cm$.
(ii) With the help of a ruler and compasses, bisect $AB$ at $C$.
(iii) Bisect $AC$ at $D$.
Measuring $AD$, we get $AD = 2.5\ cm$ long.
