Describe with one example, how moderately reactive metals (which are in the middle of reactivity series) are extracted.
Moderately reactive metals are extracted by the reduction of their oxides with carbon, aluminum sodium, or calcium.
Example:
Roasting: When zinc sulphate is strongly heated in the air, it forms zinc oxide and sulphur dioxide.
Reduction: Zinc oxide is heated with carbon to form zinc metal.
