Describe the motion of a body which is accelerating at a constant rate of $10\ ms^{–2}$. If the body starts from rest, how much distance will it cover in $2\ s$ ?
Here in initial velocity $u=0$
Acceleration $a=10\ ms^{-2}$
Time $t=2\ sec.$
Let $s$ be the distance covered by the moving body.
On using the equation of motion $s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2$
$s=0\times2+\frac{1}{2}\times10\times2^2$
Or $s=0+20$
Or $s=20\ m$
