Define the 'William Crooks' experiment on the cathode ray.
The cathode-ray tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube that contains one or more electron guns and a phosphorescent screen and is used to display images.
It modulates, accelerates, and deflects electron beam(s) onto the screen to create the images.
So when William Crook placed a solid object in the path of the cathode rays casts a shadow on the wall of the tube across from the cathode.
The cathode rays also can be deflected by an electric field in a direction which suggests they are negatively charged.
