Define the law of conservation of mass.
The law of conservation of mass states that in a chemical reaction, mass can neither be created nor destroyed.
E.g.
$2Na + Cl_2 \rightarrow 2NaCl$
2 x 23 + 2 x 35.5 → 2(23 + 35.5)
46 + 71 → 2(58.5)
117 →117
