Define TENDONS and LIGAMENTS with examples.

A tendon is a tough band of fibrous connective tissue that connects muscle to bone and transmits the mechanical force of muscle contraction to the bones that’s why our bone is capable of resisting tension.

Tendons are located throughout the body, from the head and neck to the way down the feet.

Tendons are similar to ligaments; both are made up of collagen

Tendons connect muscle to the bone while ligaments connect one bone to another.

Ligaments connect the ends of the bones together to form a joint. It acts as a shock absorber at the joints.

A ligament connects the ends of bones together to form a joint.

An example of the ligament is the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that attaches the thigh bone to the shin bone and is responsible for stabilizing the knee joint.
