Calculate the formula unit massesof ZnO, Na2O, K2CO3, given atomic masses of Zn = 65u, Na = 23u, K = 39, C = 12u, and O = 16u.
The formula unit mass of-
1. ZnO = mass of Zn + mass of O
= 65 +16
= 81 u.
2. Na2O = 2(mass of Na) + (mass of O)
= 2(23) + 16
= 46+16
= 62 u.
3. K2CO3 = 2(39) +12+3(16)
= 78+12+48
= 138 u.
