HCl and HNO3 show acidic characteristics in aqueous solution, while alcohol and glucose solutions do not. Give reasons.

Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and Nitric Acid (HNO3) show acidic behaviour in aqueous solution as they dissociate in water to produce H+ ions (hydrogen ions).
The solution of glucose and alcohol do not produce H+ ions in water, hence they do not show acidic character.
