(i) Hydrogen gas is evolved in this process.
(ii) The equation for the above reaction is given below:
$Zn( s) \ +\ H_{2} SO_{4}( aq)\rightarrow \ ZnSO_{4\ } +\ H_{2} \uparrow $
Test for H2 gas: The presence of Hydrogen gas can be tested by passing the gas through soap solution and then bringing a burning splinter near the soap bubbles filled with the gas. If the gas burns with a pop sound, it is hydrogen.
