(a) Name and draw a cell that does not have a well-defined nuclear region. Label any four parts.
(b) Mention two ways a photosynthesizing cell belonging to this group differs from a cell of your body.
(a) A prokaryote is a unicellular organism with a primitive type of nucleus. Prokaryotic cell lacks a membrane-bound nucleus, mitochondria, and any other membrane-bound organelle.
(b) Photosynthesizing cell, belonging to prokaryotic cell, differs from the cell of the human body in the following way:
(i) Photosynthesizing cell contains the organelle chloroplast which is responsible for synthesizing sugar molecules with the help of chlorophyll pigment.
(ii) Human cell contains well-developed nucleus while photosynthesizing prokaryotic cell contains primitive-type of the nucleus.
(iii) Double membraneous cell organelles such as the nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and single membraneous organelles such as lysomoses and centrosomes are absent in photosynthesizing prokaryotic cells while these are present in the cell of the human body.
