Add the following:$\frac{7}{12}$ and $\frac{3}{8}$.

Given :

The given numbers are $\frac{7}{12}$ and $\frac{3}{8}$.

To do :

We have to add the given numbers.

Solution :

$\frac{7}{12}+\frac{3}{8}$

LCM of 12 and 8 $= 24$

Therefore,

$\frac{7}{12}+\frac{3}{8} = \frac{(7\times2)}{(12\times2)} + \frac{(3\times3)}{(8\times3)}$

                    $= \frac{14}{24} + \frac{9}{24}$

                    $= \frac{(14+9)}{24}$

                    $= \frac{23}{24}$.

Therefore, the sum of $\frac{7}{12}$ and $\frac{3}{8}$ is  $\frac{23}{24}$.
