(a) What are the methods used by plants to get rid of their waste products ?
(b) How are waste products excreted in Amoeba?
(a) The different methods used by the plants to get rid of their waste products are given below-
- Plants get rid of gaseous waste products through stomata present in leaves and lenticels present on stems.
- Plants get rid of other solid and liquid waste by shedding off leaves, peeling of bark, and falling of the fruits.
- Plants also get rid of wastes by secreting gums and resins.
- Plants also excrete some waste substances into the soil around them.
(b) In amoeba, the waste product, carbon dioxide is removed by diffusion through the cell membrane. Other nitrogenous wastes and excess water are removed by the contractile vacuole.
