A swimming pool is 20m in length, 15m in breadth and 4m in depth. Find the cost of cementing it's floor and walls at 35 rupees per square metre

Given: A swimming pool is $20$m in length, $15$m in breadth and $4$m in depth

To find : The cost of cementing it's floor and walls at $35$ rupees per square metre

Solution:

Length of swimming pool = $20$ m

Breadth of swimming pool = $15$ m

Height of swimming pool = $4$m

Area to be cementing  =  Area of floor $+$ Area of four walls

ā€Š Area of floor  = Length  $\times$ Breadth

                           =  $20$  $\times$ 15

Area of floor  = $300$ sq m

Area of four walls = $2 (length \times  height) + 2 (breadth \times  height)$

                                  = $2 (20 \times  4) + 2 (15 \times  4)$

                                  =  $2 (80)  +  2(60)$

                                  =  $160 + 120$

Area of four walls = $280$ sq m

Area to be cementing  = $300 + 280$

Area to be cementing  = $580 $sq m

Cost of cementing per sq meter = $35$ā‚¹

Cost of cementing $580$ sq meter = $35 \times  580$

Cost of cementing $580$ sq meter (swimming pool) = 20300 ā‚¹
