(a) State the relation between potential difference, work done and charge moved.
(b) Calculate the work done in moving a charge of 4 coulombs from a point at 220 volts to another point at 230 volts.
(a) When a charge Q moves between two points whose potential difference is V, the amount of work done is given by
$W = Q \times V$
(b)
Given: A charge of 4 coulombs is moved from a point at 220 volts to another point at 230 volts.
To find: Work done
Solution:
Potential difference = 230 - 220 = 10 V
$W = Q \times V$
Therefore, $W = 4 \times 10 = 40 \ J$
Work done = 40 joule
