A sheet is in the form of a rhombus whose diagonals are $10\ m$ and $8\ m$. Find the cost of painting both of its surface at the rate of Rs.$70\ per\ m^2$.
Given: A sheet is in the form of a rhombus whose diagonals are $10\ m$ and $8\ m$. Rate of painting is Rs.$70\ per\ m^2$
To do: To find the cost of painting both of its surface.
Solution:
Surface area of rhombus$=\frac{1}{2}\times d_1\times d_2$
$=\frac{1}{2}\times10\times8=40\ m^2$
$\therefore$ Total surface area to be painted$=$Both sides of the rhombus$=2\times( Area\ of\ the\ rhombus)=2\times40=80\ m^2$
Therefore, cost of painting$=Rs.\ ( 80\times70)=Rs.\ 5600$
