A man drops a $10\ kg$ rock from the top of a $5\ m$ ladder. What is its kinetic energy when reaches the ground?
Here given, Mass of the rock $m=10\ kg.$
Height of the ladder $h=5\ m$
Gravitational acceleration $g=9.8\ ms^{-2}$
Therefore, Potential energy of the rock $=mgh$
$=10\ kg.\times9.8\ ms^{-2}\times5\ m$
$=490\ Joule$
We know that the potential energy of the rock gets converted into the kinetic energy form.
Therefore kinetic energy of the rock $K=490\ Joule$
