A car start from rest and acquire a velocity of 54 km/h in 2 sec. Find distance travelled by car assume motion of car is uniform?
Here, the initial velocity $u=0$
Final velocity $v=54\ km/h=54\times\frac{5}{18}\ m/s=15\ m/s$
Time $t=2\ sec.$
Therefore, acceleration $a=\frac{v-u}{t}$
$=\frac{15-0}{2}$
$=7.5\ m/s^2$
On using the equation of motion, $s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2$
Or $s=0+\frac{1}{2}\times7.5\times2^2$
Or $s=15\ m$
Therefore, the distance traveled by car is $15\ m$.
