(d) How long does it take to travel $240\ m$ ?
As given, a car is moving along a straight road at a steady speed. It travels $150\ m$ in $5\ seconds$.
(a) Distance traveled $=150\ m$
Time $=5\ s$
Therefore, average speed $=\frac{total\ distance}{time}$
$=\frac{150\ m}{5\ s}$
$=30\ m/s$
(b) Distance traveled in $1\ second=averaeg\ speed\times time=30\ m/s\times1\ s=30\ m$
(c) Distance traveled in $6\ seconds=speed\times time=30\ m/s\times 6\ s=180\ m$
(d) As known, $time=\frac{distance}{speed}$
$=\frac{240\ m}{30\ m/s}$
$=8\ s$
