- Who is Who
A body possess potential energy of $460\ J$ whose mass is $20\ kg$ and is raised to a certain height. What is the height when $g=10\ m/s^2$.
Here given, Potential energy of the body $U=460\ J$
Mass of the body $m=20\ kg.$
$g=10\ m/s^2$
Let the body is raised to the height of $h$.
On using potential energy formula, $U=mgh$
$460=20\times10\times h$
Or $h=\frac{460}{20\times10}$
Or $h=2.3\ m$
Thus, the height is $2.3\ m$.
