Course Description
Gatsby is a React-based open-source framework for creating websites and apps. It's great whether you're building a portfolio site or blog, or a high-traffic e-commerce store or company homepage.
Gatsby loads only critical parts of any given web page, so your site loads as fast as possible. Once loaded, Gatsby prefetches resources for other pages so that clicking around the site feels incredibly fast. Gatsby lets individuals and teams focus on creating content-driven websites instead of worrying about performance.
In just 45 minutes, we are going to build YOUR personal Gatsby JS blog, where, in the end, you only need to write in Markdown to create beautiful blog posts!
We will start from a freely available GitHub repository blog template GatsbyJS boilerplate project, then create a few blog posts and style the blog, then extend the functionality of what we can do with posts using various GatsbyJS plugins, and finally create a production build of the site and deploy it to GitHub Pages!
This course is geared towards beginner and intermediate developers, so we will start off from the very basics of what Gatsby JS is and what it is exactly trying to accomplish. This will include a small discussion on what static vs dynamic or server rendered sites are, and what makes static sites so fast, as well as some discussion on the SEO benefits of static sites.
